in collaboration with Max Schmidt / Werkmeister Berka, executed by Kunsttischlerei Friedrich Otto Schmidt, Vienna, after 1900. Six-legged structure made of mahogany, tiles, brass fittings and brass sabots. Height c. 65 cm, diameter c. 70 cm. Signs of age and wear, scratches and worn areas, isolated minor chips. Adolf Loos used this table model in different variations (6 and 8-legged models, size of the table top, with and without brass appliqués as well as table-top inlays.) An identical specimen is preserved in the collection of the Museum of Applied Arts, Vienna (exh. in the permanent exhibition “Design/Arts and Crafts 1890 – 1938”).
