Only few examples were realised of this lacquered tripod chair, which is based on a colour scheme conceived by De Stijl artist Bart van der Leck. Metz was the leading vendor of avant-garde design in the early 1930s andsaw to the production of designs by Marcel Breuer, Gerrit Rietveld, Sonia Delaunay, Bart van der Leck, and others.
