private collection, Germany.
The present drawing is a detail study for an angel in the right part of the painting “The Ecstasy of Saint Catherine of Siena” (1743), which was executed for the church Santa Caterina di Siena in Lucca (Oil on canvas, 240 x 220, oval format). The painting is preserved today in the Museo Nazionale di Villa Giunigi, Lucca (Inv. 302).
