Hakone-Kosui no zu (Hakone - View of the Lake), no. 11 from the series: "Tokaido gojusantsugi no uchi" (The 53 Stations of Tokaido), nishiki-e, signed Hiroshige ga, publisher Takenouchi Magohachi (Ho- heid), dated 1833-34 (Tenpo 4-5), censor seal kiwame, the present sheet possibly refers to print b (see Matthi Forrer, Hiroshige, Munich 1991, no. 18, the bokashi is heavily greyed), compare the present sheet with acc. no. 11.38921, MFA, Boston, with which it shares the almost two-part grey shading of the right mountains and a tiny hole shaped blank area in the blue to the right of the kiwame seal; spotted and minimally wavy, the Fuji heavily faded, restored segment at the lower margin at the bottom of the mountain at the back, the sheet is slightly thin in a very few places at the back, also traces of glue to the upper corners at the back, 24.7 x 36.7 cm,(CT)
