Fujikawa, sheet 38 from the series: "Tokaido-Gojusan tsugi" (The Way of Tokaido also known as Reisho Tokaido), nishiki-e, signed Hiroshige ga, censor seal Mera, Watanabe, dated 1847-52 (Koka 4-Kaei 6), compare sheet and details with the sheet from the MFA, Boston , acc. no. 06.1420,21.5136: both sheets have the same blank spot in the upper right corner of the signature seal. It also shares two indentations at the lower left edge of the border line with sheet acc. no. JP788 from the Metropolitan Museum in New York. The present piece is a slightly later impression than both of the aforementioned sheets, because in the left and in the right hill only two shades of green can be seen as transition. Visible centre fold, backed, cleaned, smoothed creases, upper right probably c. 2cm restored tear near the upper corner of the red cartouche; trimmed slightly outside the border lines, other possible restorations not visible due to mounting on paper, 22.8 x 24.8 cm, mounted, framed,(CT)
