c. 1900, 3-piece mahogany veneered hardwood frame with leather-covered inserts with floral painting, photographs of Duke Robert (1873-1947) in uniform, civilian clothes and various historicising costumes, and of his wife Maria Immakulata of Austria (1878-1968), small oil paintings with vedutas, inter alia the Naschmarkt in Vienna, the Schlossplatz in Stuttgart, the later Hotel Imperial at the Vienna Ringstraße, Schloss Strudelhof at the outskirts of Vienna, and Villa Marie Therese in Altmünster on Traunsee/Upper Austria, under glass, c. 170 x 200 cm, in well-maintained condition. Duke Robert was raised mainly in Vienna. He married Maria Immakulata of Austria, daughter of Archduke Charles Salvador of Austria, on 29 October 1900, in the Hofburg parish church. The views of the palaces in Vienna and Altmünster refer to city and summer residences of Robert's father, Duke Philipp von Württemberg (1838-1917), and his wife Marie Therese (1845-1928), who used the Strudelhof as their Vienna city palace after the large palace on the Kärntner Ring (later Hotel Imperial) was sold. In addition, Duke Philipp also owned a villa in Altmünster on Lake Traunsee. After the end of the monarchy, Duke Robert retired to Altshausen Castle, which had been the residence of the ducal family since 1919. He occupied himself with the design of several building projects that were never realised.
