„The three sheets the red inked silhouettes offer the most exquisite of Schwind’s humour and grace, whereupon one has to observe, that the red ink was applied to the sheet in turgescent and decongestant strength”. And Heyne further states that on the sheet illustrating instrumental music a position of the figures’ feet appears, which is normally avoided in silhouttes because it is limited to outlines. “And yet these figures are of striking distinction in their effect … The composition with the depiction of instrumental music is varied.... “The Altenburg Harvest Festival was supposed to decorate the shade for a lamp in Altenburg’s palace Rüdigerhof. Seen against the lamplight the varied application of red appears even more appealing. The procession begins with two musicians loosely lined up. It intensifies and swells in size and extent towards the upper right… Loose striding in front. It gradually diminishes and their striding almost quietly comes to a halt”
