The Neapolitan artist Lucio del Pezzo was a founding member of Gruppo 58 and hence one of the representatives of Movimento Arte Nucleare. In the 1960s he had his first solo exhibitions in Milan and New York. After moving to Paris he enjoyed considerable success and was well received by the French public.
He executed several works in public spaces, such as, among others, a large wall painting for the Centre Pompidou. In Italy, too, he created numerous ‘Percent for Art’ projects. One of these was made for the headquarters of Ferré fashion house in Milan. He is one of Italy’s most versatile contemporary artists, having produced, besides an extensive painterly oeuvre, also numerous graphic works and sculptures.
