Sammlung Leopold, exhibition catalogue, Leopold Museum Vienna, 2010 At the end of May 1962, Adolf Frohner, Otto Muehl, Herrmann Nitsch and Josef Dvorak published the manifesto “Die Blutorgel” (the first of four publications), in which they announced that they would be walled-in. In the cluttered basement, Frohner, Muehl, Nitsch produced junk sculptures while being walled-in (the basement had a rear entrance).
