Painting is not a human experience; it is an element of nature. Butterflies have large eyes ‘painted’ on their wings in order to scare their enemies. Fish and insects often display the most amazing decorations to attract females or males. Even an increased danger of being seen and eaten as a result of this is accepted, such is the attraction that colours and shapes exert on animals and people. Such is the love of art.
