I cannot say that I am the protagonist as I am aware that protagonists are the signs and my hand is only a tool at their service. But neither can I say that the protagonists are the marks because it is my hand that fixes them on the canvas. It is a dynamic relationship between action and agent, similar to time and space, the two aspects are no longer separate except for the purpose of observation at that place.
