1978 Chevrolet Corvette C3 Targa
Lavishly restored in Germany!
Chevrolet introduced its third generation Corvette to the market in 1967. The car would remain in the product range for 15 years. GM designer David Holls created a striking body with sweeping, strong lines – lovingly referred to as the "Coke-bottle shape". Two removable roof panels offered abundant fresh air fun. In 1978, the C3 received a fastback rear end with a glass dome behind the B pillar.
This Corvette was acquired from the previous owner in 2001 at a Corvette dealer in Munich. The car was in solid condition. The purchase contract shows a mileage of 98,369 km; the sales advertisement mentions an overhauled gearbox. In the years 2003 and 2004, the Corvette was extensively restored in a specialized workshop at a mileage of 108,574. Bills for over €28,000 provide proof of this work. The Stingray also got a high-quality paint job in the original delivery colour, frost blue. The dark blue leather interior also corresponds to the original design. A stainless steel exhaust system and functional air conditioning make the C3 complete. The consignor purchased the car in 2008. Today, it has only 121,000 km on the clock. After the 12,000 km since the restoration, this rocket still thrills with its unusually great condition. It is hard to find a better way to experience the American car craze than with a Corvette.
