From first owner with folding sunroof!

After production ceased in Emden in January 1978, the Beetles were began being imported from faraway Mexico only a short time later. Their abstinence had left an unexpected void. In 1985, the official import was discontinued. Initially, the Mexico VWs had only in dreary houndstooth, and it was only the later models that received the friendlier large checked look.

This VW is a late model, first registered in Grieskirchen on August 9, 1985. A special feature of this alpine white 1200 is its large folding sunroof. This extra touch had not been officially available since 1963, and a few even had their car converted into a "fast convertible" with it. The Lemmerz sports wheels gave it another sporty accent. In addition, the papers only contain one owner! Meanwhile, the Beetle was painted and various things were repaired and adjusted. The VW brings sunshine into everyday life. That is exactly its job, no more and no less. And it fulfills its job with flying colors!
