Johannes Bartholomäus Duntze studied at the Academy in Munich as well as in Berlin, Antwerp, Geneva and Calame. Study trips led him to places including Paris and Norway. In 1856 he settled in Düsseldorf where he pleased his public with landscapes of the Rhine, Mosel and Tyrol.
