Johann Danckerts

Little is known about Johann Danckerts. He is documented in 1632 as a master in the Guild of Saint Luke in The Hague, being appointed dean at a later date. After time spent in Italy, he travelled to Great Britain in 1658. In 1680/81 he is mentioned as resident in Amsterdam. Danckerts painted landscapes, often with mythological figural groups, although he also executed religious works.
