We are grateful to the grandson of the artist Igor Andreevich Ioganson and the great-grandson Boris Igorevich Ioganson for confirming the authenticity on the basis of a photograph.

This work is a smaller version of the painting that Ioganson executed in cooperation with Piotr Pokarzhevsky for the 1939 World’s Fair in the USA. The original title was “Life has improved, life has become merrier!” This large painting (387 x 628 cm) was exhibited in the main pavilion of the All-Union Agricultural Exhibition in Moscow and later found a place in the Central Museum of the Revolution in Moscow (now the State Central Museum of Contemporary History of Russia). The sketch for this work is also preserved there.
