“The Grandparents’ Visit” deals with the joy that comes in uniting different generations, but also with the contrast between an urban and rural way of life. This is predominantly expressed through the colour palette, the interior of the urban dwelling, as well as the adult daughter’s clothes, are kept in subdued, darker colours, whereas the grandmother’s clothing shines in primary colours: red, blue and yellow.
