From 1814 to 1819 Franz Xaver Nachtmann attended the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich. Between 1820 and 18256 and in 1827 he was a painter of flowers and fruits for the porcelain manufacture Nymphenburg. He also taught drawing to Bavarian princesses and produced several scenes of interiors of the king’s residence which contributed to his success at the court of Ludwig I.
