Florentine school, 18th century

Florentine school, 18th century - Mistrovské kresby, Tisky do roku 1900, Akvarely a miniatury

The idealized portrait of a young womam in profile towards left, red chalk on laid paper, an old inscription in pen and brown ink on the reverse, 14,8 x 11,8 cm, mounted, unframed, (Sch)

The present study is perhaps inspired by a drawing after the "Teste Divine" of Michelangelo. The outline of the profile and the physiognomy of the young woman resemble a drawing after Michelangelo’s profile portrait "Marchesa di Pesacara" in the British Museum (1895-9-15-493) which is attributed to Antonio Mini. Concerning the drawings "Teste Divine" by Michelangelo and his pupils see: Andreas Schumacher, Michelangelos Teste Divine: Idealbildnisse als Exempla der Zeichenkunst, Münster 2007.
