With the 2000 model Wurlitzer introduced their first jukebox offering a selection of 200 songs for their 100-year-anniversary. For the large selection they invented book-like title list one had to skim through. The cheaper sister model didn’t have that, which made the Wurlitzer 2000 look even more advanced than the 1900 and met the zeitgeist of dawning space age right on spot. To this day this anniversary model is regarded as the finest jukebox Wurlitzer had ever offered.

In terms of sales numbers the cheaper 1900 model was quite the bit ahead of its 200-selection sister model. Only 7,500 were built and its hefty price tag certainly didn’t make things easier

A little tag next to the carousel makes this example even more special. It tells us that this Wurlitzer 2000 was sold new through Austrian importer A. Merrill at Vienna’s Mariahilferstraße 105. It spent its lifetime in Austria, which makes it extremely rare.

On top of its rarity and Austrian provenance this example still presents itself in very good, cosmetically largely unrestored condition. However, we have not tried if it works and therefore it will be strictly sold as is, without any guarantee for functionality.
