1980 Monteverdi Safari

1980 Monteverdi Safari - Autoveicoli d'epoca

Austrian delivery!
In the possession of the second owner since 1985!

The original motivation for this luxury SUV Safari came from the International Harvester importer M. Böhler in Vienna, who wanted to "embellish" his Scout. Peter Monteverdi changed the rear window line and took away the coarseness of the functional all-wheel drive vehicle. His idea was to offer an alternative to the Range Rover, once with an automatic gearbox and optional four-wheel drive. He introduced the Safari in February based on the International Scout, but with the elegance of a Monteverdi.

The construction company Hinteregger & Söhne in Salzburg imported this Monteverdi Safari in June 1980 and had it registered in September of the same year. Five years later, the exclusive off-road vehicle was in the possession of a Viennese businessman known for his exquisite taste in cars. He first registered to his company and later to himself in 1988. In the meantime, the Monteverdi fell into oblivion, but remained registered to the same four-digit Vienna number until 2015. Externally the car shows its age, definitely. Inside, however, it is immediately clear how special this Monteverdi was and how well it was taken care of. Since its rediscovery, the car was gently wakened from its slumber made ready for sale again. Now a new owner is needed to bring it back to its original splendour. This most exclusive of all SUVs, with its history, has earned it!
