980 Mercedes-Benz 280 SL

980 Mercedes-Benz 280 SL - Autoveicoli d'epoca

3 owners from new, only 120.500 km!With rare manual transmission! In April 1971 Mercedes-Benz presented the R107 called successor of the Pagoda, first as 350 SL, followed by the 450 SL in Geneva in 1973. The new SL sold very well in the United States thanks to its big V8 engines. With the oil crisis in 1974 came the 280 SL with a twin-cam inline six engine. The R107 was built until 1989, which makes it the longest production run of all Mercedes models ever built.

On June 24, 1980, its first owner, born in 1914, ordered this 280 SL in “Orientrot” with “Siena” interior, both tops and a tow hitch. Later he had the hitch removed and the car repainted in its original color. The car was on the road in the first owners name until 2009, when he was 95! On November 8, 2012 the second owner had the SL registered as historic motor car at 114.652 km. On April 29, 2013 the third owner registered the car with then 116.000 km on the clock. Now this low-mileage SL comes to auction with its soft and hard-top and while the later alloy rims are currently fitted the original Fuchs wheels also come with it. This classic Mercedes convertible will spend its new owner hopefully as many years of pleasure as its first!
