According to a plate on the reverse the horse depicted here is Hajdu, by Dunure, out of Geht An. Hajdu was born in 1899 and owned by the brewer and member of the Jockey Club, Anton Dreher (1849-1921). Hajdu had a promising but not remarkable start to his career but never seemed to live up to expectations. He was entered for the German Derby in 1902 but didn't in the end actually take part in the race.
