Cesare Covi, a painter from Trentino, is primarily known for his decorative architectural paintings and depictions of nature. He began his studies at the Brera Academy in Milan before continuing in Florence from 1892 to 1894. During a stay in Rome he received an art scholarship from the province of Tyrol on the recommendation of Franz Defregger (1835–1921). This enabled him to return to Florence for two years. Afterwards he remained permanently in Trentino. His reputation is based upon his decorative paintings in the Palazzo Pedrotti and the Palazzo Ferrari in Trentino, and his paintings for the memorial to the fallen in Trofaiach.
