Provenance: Collector’s mark Giacomo de Nicola (Lugt 1953a) on the recto; Felice Pasquè (Lugt 3771); anonymous collector’s mark monogram S in a circle (not with Lugt); private collection, Italy.

The present drawing presumably goes back to an engraving after Raphael’s painting “The Ecstasy of Saint Cecilia” from 1514 and represents the mirror-inverted images of the portraits of Saint Cecily and Saint Mary Magdalene.
