E’disponibile la perizia di Dan Malan, Saint Louis luglio 2009. "(...) But there is no doubt of the authenticity of this Doré landscape painting, bearing his signature and confirming with his landscape art style, and for one of his favorite themes. It is a more distant view than his painting in the Louvre. In our painting, you can almost feel the last rays of the sun falling softly on the clouds. the snow, the trees, and the mountain ridges of the majestic Matterhorn. the date is not quite clear; it could be either 1870 or 1878, not that it matters. This is a welcome addition to the scenic tableaus of Doré, considered by many to be one of the last of the romantics. (estratto dell’expertisa di Dan Malan)
