Ferrari presented its 308 GTB in 1976. Installed transverse, the agile and durable V8 engine is perched in front of the rear axle, its curvaceous lines designed of course by Pininfarina as a perfect recipe for success! Upgraded repeatedly, the evolution arrives on the market in 1985 in the form of the 328, building on proven technology, while improving almost everything. The engine is even more powerful, the car quicker, the design more modern, and the aerodynamics enhanced as well! The 328 remains part of the programme until 1989. But Magnum is still driving the GTS, so the Berlinetta is underrepresented; only 1344 of the coupés are built, making it a coveted collector’s item today!

Denzel dispatched this Ferrari to a Viennese businessman in January 1986; bearing the production number 23, it is probably the first 328 GTB ever delivered to Austria! The first owner had ordered his Berlinetta in classic Rosso Corsa (Fer 300/6) with beige interior (VM3218), air conditioning and without any aesthetically objectionable spoiler package. He drove his Berlinetta until 1993, but then seems to have given it back in part exchange, as Denzel again sold the Ferrari in 1994, this time to its second owner, an architect from Vienna, who paid the mouth-watering price of 770,000 Schilling. But the Ferrari was deregistered for longer than it was registered under his ownership, which most likely explains its incredibly good condition, especially the outstanding interior, whose durability is not among the notable strengths of Ferrari. The 328 has only travelled 27,000 kilometres in 31 years, a distance that others manage in 12 months. So this GTB really does satisfy the frequently overused classification of a ‘year-old car’, in spirit at least. But nobody needs to be afraid of it, as the Ferrari was taken to Denzel for belt service in 2016. Many believe that the 328 is the most beautiful of all Ferraris, and this one certainly captures the imagination with its beautiful condition and unique history!
