Lili Marberg initially studied at the Dresden conservatory, later moving to the Munich Schauspielhaus where she had great success in her role as Salome in Oscar Wilde's play of the same name from 1903 onwards. In 1911 she joined the Burgtheater in Vienna, where she shone in a number of roles until 1950. Lili Marberg received the title of ‘Kammerschauspielerin’ and became an honorary member of the Burgtheater.
