Private collection, Vienna
The present painting is an interpretation of the Madonna of Vyssi Brod (Hohenfurth), one of the most famous works of fifteenth-century Bohemian art. The anonymous artist did not adopt the painted saints on the frame of the Hohenfurth painting.
We are grateful to Manfred Schreiner for confirming the age of origin of the present painting (circa 1440, written certificate March 2013).
