Johann Gottfried Klinsky
(Dresden 1765-1828 Ulm) A party in a landscape garden at sunshine, signed and dated Klinsky, nach der Natur gezeichnet 1799 (drawn after nature), watercolour on paper, fixed to support, 42 x 59 cm, mounted, framed, (Hu)
Johann Gottfried Klinsky was a sculptor, drawing teacher and later an architect. He mainly worked as a landscape architect. He exceuted a series of engravings of views in the park of Machern castle, one of the most beautiful sentimental landscape gardens of the 18th century in Saxony. Both sheets point to „Wilhelmsruhe“ in Machern; an absolute certain identification seems impossible. See also lot 173.
