1969 Mercedes-Benz 280 SL

1969 Mercedes-Benz 280 SL - Historická motorová vozidla

Referred to as W113 in the factory, this Mercedes celebrated its première at the Geneva Motor Show in 1963. Paul Bracq designed a flat silhouette with large window surfaces. The car was referred to as "pagoda" because of its hard top. The 280 SL was introduced in 1968; this is the most popular model today, because it is has the most power. Its everyday, all-around characteristics still win over many fans.

This Mercedes-Benz was intended for America, designed in elegant silver-grey with black leather. The tinted windows along with the black hardtop lend the car a certain sophistication. The additional transverse seating makes the pagoda into a practical three-seater. The convertible also scores with a Becker radio and air conditioning, which was retrofitted in the United States. The consignors bought the Mercedes in Texas and then brought it to Austria. The shock absorbers and axle seals were overhauled in the USA – this is clearly noticeable upon inspection of the brilliantly preserved underbody. The consignors also had the brakes redone during a service. Although the paint is old and the passenger door has a tiny dent, this terrific appearance of this car just radiates. All in all, it is a solidly maintained vehicle with a beautifully maintained leather interior as well as great mechanics. This pagoda has a lot going for it, and the great colour combination is the icing on the cake.
