1973 BMW 2002 tii

1973 BMW 2002 tii - Historická motorová vozidla

Italian roll-out with generous fittings!

In February 1971 BMW introduced the 2002 tii. Thanks to its kugelfischer fuel injection system, the engine now ran at 130 HP. This allowed it to match the very peak of the top-class BMW 2500’s performance, but it was even faster when it came to acceleration. Paul Hahne, nicknamed "Nischenpaul", had thus created an unrivalled car and at the same time the original forerunner of the compact BMW saloon. Not for nothing does this small Bavarian roadster now enjoy true cult status. Its successors were the 323i, 325i and perhaps also the M3.

The presented 2002 tii is still one of the last early models before these cars received a facelift with their rounded tail lights. As a special feature, the tii has a rare, optionally available 5-speed sports gearbox (first gear left and down) as well as tinted windows and leather seat covers. It was delivered to Bologna in March 1973, as its original libretto shows, to its first owner who was born in 1912. Its second owner was born in 1913, while its third was born in 1915. In 2014, the BMW finally came to Austria to the current owner, born in 1940, after having been registered last in Modena. There it had already been given a new coat of paint while the seats were being reupholstered in leather. The fact that all its youthful lightness of being had always been kept away from it can still be seen today. The elegant Ronal wheels round off the sporty impression it makes on the road, the driving quality at 130 HP with its 950 kilos is beyond any doubt.
