The variable perceptual structures were born in 1965 from the potential of the minimalist white relief which produced lines of light and lines of shade. But the idea of plasticity was always at the root of my work. (...)
The relief went hand in hand with sculpture, which went from being emblematic to structural in 1963. I tried to eliminate the fractures passing between line, plane and volume. The objects born of the sign occupied the space through the opening up or the projection of the plane, giving rise to open shapes and closed shapes according to precise reasons of development....
