„In the effort to expand the space painted inside the contoured surface, to make it move beyond that point, without ever detaching itself from that point, Aricò converses with the culture of primary shapes and with the new imaging solutions of Minimal Art, rigorously based on geometric shapes that are conceptually autonomous and unrelated to subjective emotions.
The fact is that the sensory component of colour, the pictorial sensibility, and the emotional involvement of the occupied space are decisive conditions for Aricò’s intellectual project, even if without excess and with the maximal annulment of all subjective and psychological implications. (...) Within the field of the infinite, painting liberates itself from the constraints of material things, and becomes itself an instrument for affirming the supremacy of colour, which, in turn, is an instrument for the understanding of space, because it is the synthesis of all possible spaces.“
