Simeti and the artists of his generation have granted painting very fiew possibilities. Freeing themselves from the individualism of the Informale movement, they are characterized by a strange ambiguity. While the adoption of monochrome witnesses the seriousness of the crisis of painting as such, on the other precisely the fact of going beyond the surface and becoming an object has enabled it to return among the vanguards.
