Áruló und Komámasszony, two victorious race horses from the estate of Baron Hermann von Königswarter with jockey Robert Adams, signed, dated Emil Adam 1898, oil on panel, 29 x 38 cm, framed, (Rei)

Áruló (b. 1895), chestnut colt, by Gaga, out of Artless (Kettledrum). Bred in Hungary by Count Béla Zichy, owned by Baron Hermann von Königswarter. Trained by John Reeves in Alag (Hungary), in May 1898 Áruló won the Nemzeti-Díj (Hungarian 2000 Guineas) in Budapest and the following month the Austrian Derby in Vienna, ridden by Robert Adams.

Komámasszony (b. 1895, GB), dark bay filly, by St. Serf, out of Thoughtless (Hermit). Owned by Baron Hermann von Königswarter, trained by John Reeves. Won the Österreichischer Stutenpreis (Austrian Oaks) in May 1898, ridden by Robert Adams.
