In 1844 Gigante executed the same subject (Napoli as seen from la Conocchia), an oil on canvas now in a private collection.It also exists a watercolour of the same subject held in the National Museum of San Martino in Naples and two drawings held in private collection.
A nearly identical view painted by Theodore Duclère (1815-1869) is held at the Museo di Capodimonte in Naples.
