One out of two prototypes that were never produced in series. Michael Young’s “Magazine” sofa and table were produced by the Japanese company Firma E&Y. The chair has a dual purpose: it offers both seating and storage, with the vacuum compartment underneath the seat designed to house magazines. In this design Young explored the organic forms of the 1960s and early 70s, using elliptical shapes and playing with negative space.
