In the 1920s, between the two Wars, Balla began to create several objects for daily domestic use. The idea was ‘to beautify what is useful.’ In keeping with this idea, Balla and his daughter, Luce, created many colourful objects to be used as coasters, lamp-shades, jugs and embroideries and to be sold every Sunday during the open-house day referred to as ‘Casa Futurista di Balla ogni domenica in via Nicolò Porpora’.
