This stool was used in the Oriental Room at the Eden Palace Hotel in Genoa, which had completely been furnished by Bugatti. Having been expanded in 1897, the Eden Palace became the leading hotel in Genoa and over the years accommodated such celebrities as Gabriele d’Annunzio, Eleonora Duse, the Italian royal family, and the King of Siam.
The luxury hotel was closed down in 1927.
