The present painting is based on Abraham Storck’s View of Bonn at the Städtische Kunstsammlungen, Bonn. W. Bernt speaking about Jacobus Storck: “He painted town views along quiet canals, rendering the buildings on its banks with precision and topographic exactitude. The pleasure craft filled to capacity with its unusually tall sails at the centre of the picture is characteristic”.
