Frédéric Frégevize started his career as enameller in Geneva. From 1809 he worked for the Royal Porcelain Manufacture before he was made Professor of the Academy of Arts in 1820.
Frégevize painted mainly the Swiss Alps and Lake Geneva, with a diligency he owed to his training as an enameller. Two of his topographically exact Landscapes can be found in the Old National Gallery in Berlin
