(Vienna 1947–2012)
Paßstück, 1980s, various materials, including metal, paper-mâché, gauze, dispersion, 15.5 x 50.5 x 10 cm, (K)
Provenance:
Peter Pakesch, Vienna
Private Ownership, Vienna
... I name the Paßstück, with their presumptuous / appropriate human bodies, art – and through an intensive increase in their reception, the objects take on aspects of movement. Perception has many stages in relation to art; first a passive view, based on clichéd associations, then an active view, which concerns itself with the function of the object, and finally a medial way, in which one takes off (in the vernacular) into the art world, ideomotorically, in short: when not simply used for presentation, the Paßstück are a motor for movement.
