A dining room chair,
first third of the 20th century, solid wood construction on four legs, with horizontal stretchers and vertical slats, the upholstered seat covered with light-coloured textile fabric, height approx. 100 cm, width approx. 55 cm, depth approx. 55 cm. (MHA)
An almost identical chair (with four instead of five slats for the backrest) was used for the hallway in the apartment of Rudolf Kraus, the brother of the literary artist Karl Kraus, at No. 1 Nibelungengasse in Vienna’s first district. This apartment was presented by Adolf Loos as part of his apartment tours and described in a programme booklet.
