The Mercedes-Benz 250 CE

The Mercedes-Benz 250 CE - Classic Cars

A coupé has always been seen as a clear signal of a person’s situation. The impression arose that people are generally able to afford to pay much more for much less use. For the coupés of the Strich 8 series, the signal was particularly clear, because this surcharge was disproportionately high. The car’s appearance was accordingly sophisticated and thanks to the lack of a B pillar, particularly elegant!

This particular 250 CE is still a model of the first series, equipped with a rare steering column gear change and an electric sliding roof. It was registered for the first time in February 1970 in the Federal Republic of Germany and was introduced to Austria in 1990 where it also received an individual licence. The current owner purchased the Mercedes from a notary in Upper Austria in the condition in which it still is today. Prior to this, somebody had devoted their attention to the entire underbody, which is commonly regarded as the major weakness of this vehicle model, in order to provide peace of mind in the long term. The fact that the restoration was carried out some time ago can be seen on the coupé in places, but the interior is certainly persuasive. This coupé has no desire to masquerade as a new car, but with its sleek elegance it still conveys to this day that it has always been a cut above the rest!
