The attribution to Johann Fasold (c. 1570 Radeberg/ Saxony - 1619 Dresden) was suggested by Dr. Heinrich Geissler, Stuttgart (letter of 15 Dec. 1986). Geissler refers to the proximity of the drawing with works by the circle of Goltzius and considers an unknown artist from Northern Germany as creator of the sheet. Literature: Compare W.
