Certificate: Wolfgang Schulz, 25 March 2010, “I am pleased to be able to confirm to you that this painting, ‘River landscape’, despite some similarities with the work of Anthonie van Borssom, is an authentic work by Aert van der Neer, executed circa 1643. The painting is my cat. no. 1208.’ We are grateful to Dr Wolfgang Schulz for confirming the authenticity of this painting by Aert van der Neer on the basis of a photo. Dr Schulz presumes that the second half of the monogramme must have got lost (letter dated 19 October 2009).
