Provenance: Princess Margherita Ruspoli di Candriano, née Blanc (according to a label on the reverse of the stretcher).

Professor Mario Alberto Pavone has suggested that the present painting be attributed to Andrea Miglionico, for which information we thank him. We are also grateful to Professor Nicola Spinosa for his alternative suggestion of an attribution to Niccolo Malinconico.
