Provenance: European private collection, Prof Giancarlo Sestieri attributes the present painting with its large-scale, high quality depiction of a field of battle to Pandolfo Reschi, a painter of Polish origin, who was trained in Rome and was later active in Florence (written communication dated 10 July 2007). Nos. 1, 4, 5, 15, 23, and 32 in the catalogue raisonné by Sestieri. Prof Giancarlo Sestieri confirms that this work was completed solely in the hand of the artist (certificate of 10 July 2007).
