Provenance:
purchased in the artist’s studio by the family of the previous owner before World War I;
since 1994 Private Collection Poland. Two similar compositions, ‘Coucher de soleil’ and ‘Lever de lune’, were reproduced on the art cards of the Kiev publishing house “Rasvet” (“Dawn”) in the 1910s.
